Laos Minister of Industry and Commerce H.E.Mrs. Khemmani Pholsena pointed out that after the demonstration system is put into use, it will become the best case for promoting the application of renewable energy in Lao government departments, manufacturing industries and small and medium-sized enterprises. In 2015, Laos’ economic growth rate reached 6.7%, and industrial and commercial electricity consumption continued to grow rapidly. Affected by the dry and rainy season, traditional hydropower generation has been difficult to meet the demand for electricity. The Lao government is actively seeking to use solar energy and other renewable energy applications to make up for the shortage of hydropower generation.
